Description
Our home for the last 35+ years, and we've loved living here. The architect of the building, Rosario Candela, was known for his gracious separation of living and entertaining spaces and generous amounts of closet space, and this apartment has both. Excellent condition, with newly renovated bath and half bath. The kitchen, with its French handpainted tile backsplashes and granite and butcherblock countertops, has been a great entertaining space. The pass-through to the dining room allows socializing and food prep at the same time. And the amount of storage space is sizable, with frosted glass and solid-doored cabinets which make the most of the high ceilings. All rooms are large, and the livingroom and dining room open into one another. The large foyer, which has a huge coat closet, can be used as an office. The dining room has been made into a third bedroom plus dining area (it has already been done in this line), or an office/dining space. Or just a very large and gracious dining room. The building, with its handsome marble lobby, is prewar and full-service, with a 24-hour doorman and an amiable and hard-working staff. There is discussion about a roofdeck, but no decision has yet been made. There are also private storage lockers in 3 sizes (fee). There has been extensive exterior work done in the past few years, and the co-op board recently approved an assessment to replenish the reserve fund ($173 per month through 12/2022) This location is very accessible, with the 1 train and express 2 and 3 lines right at Broadway and 93rd St. The M104 bus on Broadway, the #7 and 11 buses also stop nearby, and the second uptown express train stop from here is on 116th and Lenox, near an excellent (and reasonably priced) indoor parking garage. Cross-town travel, too, is nearby. Close to both Riverside and Central Park, shopping and restaurants, you will hardly have to leave the neighborhood. Owner/broker.
